2017-18 United States Television – FOX

Next, we have FOX. They’ve released their new show trailers, which can be found at the bottom of the page.

The biggest loss for FOX will be Bones, though we did receive this news sometime ago. It’ll be the end of the partnership between Bones and Booth that lasted 12 seasons. David Boreanaz has however found a new spot on our TVs on CBS with the show Seal Team.

This also came with the news Sleepy Hollow would not return for the new season. I still remember the watching the cross over episode between the two shows mentioned. And it seemed to work well.

Freshmen shows that also got the axe included: APB, Making History, Son of Zorn and Pitch. I’ve seen the Pilots to 3 of the 4 shows (Making History not being the odd one out), and I would have thought that Pitch would have had the best chance of surviving the cut, especially with the tearjerker at the end of episode. But, maybe the cost factor of such a show got in the way.

Other shows not returning were: Rosewood, Scream Queens, and You the Jury.

Bob's Burgers Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Empire The Exorcist
Gotham Family Guy
Hell's Kitchen The Last Man on Earth
Lethal Weapon Lucifer
The Mick New Girl
The Simpsons Star
The X-Files

Orville – Follows the crew of the not-so-functional exploratory ship in the Earth’s interstellar fleet, 300 years in the future.

CAST: Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy), Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights), Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J Lee, Halston Sage, Penny Johnson Jerald, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Coleman (The Walking Dead)

The trailer shows a mix between Futurama and Star Trek, they even have their own version of Worf.

The Resident It centres on an idealistic young doctor who begins his first day under the supervision of a tough, brilliant senior resident who pulls the curtain back on all of the good and evil in modern day medicine. Lives may be saved or lost, but expectations will always be shattered.

CAST: Emily VanCamp (Revenge), Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife, Gilmore Girls), Manish Dayal (Viceroys House) , Bruce Greenwood, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Valerie Cruz

First impressions of this show is that it looks like a House 2.0 . Czuchry plays a very this role a third-year resident, whose methods are very unique and what is not taught at Med School

Ghosted – A sceptic is forced to work with a firm believer of the paranormal on unexplained occurrences in Los Angeles.

CAST: Craig Robinson (The Office), Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation, Big Little Lies), Edi Patterson, Ally Walker, Adeel Akhtar

I’m not one for supernatural themes, so was a bit wary about watching this show. but the writing seems to be really good, and I got a few laughs in the trailer as they take the mickey of out the subject matter.

L.A. to Vegas An ensemble workplace comedy about a group of underdogs who are trying to find their place in the world that is set on the Friday night flight from L.A. to Vegas and the returning flight on Sunday, who all share the same goal: to come back a winner in the casino of life.

CAST: Ed Weeks (The Mindy Project), Dylan McDermott (American Horror Story) , Kim Matula (The Bold and the Beautiful), Olivia Macklin (The Young Pope), Nathan Lee Graham

The premise of the show seems very boring, but I was pleasantly surprised by the trailer. but I feel like this story line was already trailed in the TV show remake of Pan-Am, which bombed (no pun intended). So I don’t know how successful this will be.

The Gifted In a world where mutated humans are treated with distrust and fear, an institute for mutants battles to achieve peaceful co-existence with humanity.

CAST: Amy Acker (Person of Interest), Stephen Moyer, Natalie Alyn Lind, Percy Hynes White, Blair Redford (Switched at Birth), Jamie Chung, Sean Teale, Cody Bell, Emma Dumont

Another superhero TV show, this time based off the X-Men series. This does not interest me.
