Bank Chor (2017) trailer

Remember that movie that the guy from Saathiya (2002) said was coming, but we’ve waited too long for? Well, here it is. Bank Chor.

This movie was announced ages ago, and I’ve really wanted to what Vivek Oberoi has come to. He hasn’t featured in many budget films for sometime. I don’t plan to Krrish 3 (2013) , and the Masti (2004) series is pretty much pointless at the moment. And from what had heard, I thought Vivek would be playing this smooth, classy, James Bond-esq Bank Chor.

As for Riteish Deshmukh, why is he even in this film? Okay, it’s a better casting than what was originally planned by having Kapil Sharma; but, still? Then I realise he’s the guy behind the Masti series.

So from what I can of the trailer, it looks to be a parody film, as a lot of the camera shots and scene look similar to other movies. But isn’t copying scenes something Bollywood do on a daily basis? * cough * Don (2006) and Mission Impossible (1996) * cough *.

The wig that Riteish wears in the opening scene of the trailer is reminiscent of the wig from his film Banjo (2016). Then calling the group “3 Idiots” (2009).

Vivek’s character looks like he is best friends with Chulbul Pandey and Bajirao Singham from Dabangg (2010) and Singham (2011), respectively. The moustache and aviators are so stereotypical Indian police and it has become very boring to watch.

And what’s with the Honey Singh / Badshah try hard, that looks like Vishal Dadlani? I have to give credit to the Kejriwal joke, even though anyone outside India will not understand it.

The snippets of music in the trailer don’t give much to be entertained by either.

I’m quite disappointing by the result of the trailer as I was expecting something completely different to what I got.

Finally, whenever I hear them say “Bank Chor”, all I hear is “benchod”. There’s probably a reason behind why this is the case.

Bank Chor releases in Australia on Friday the 16th of June, 2017.
