Raabta (2017): Title Song

WATCH: Raabta (2017): Main Tera Boyfriend

READ: Main Tera Boyfriend Na Na Na Na

First of all, I need to say: Deepika ❤ . She is babe.

Okay, now for the review.

I first heard this song in the trailer, and that hit a nerve. It was the same lyrics and tune to a number of songs from Saif Ali Khan‘s Agent Vinod (2012). The songs  “Raabta“, “Raabta (Night in a Motel)”, “Raabta (Siyaah Raatein)” and “Raabta (Kehte Hain Khuda Ne)” all used the same chorus and this song seemed to do the same.

Kuch toh hai tujhse raabta
Kuch toh hai tujhse raabta
Kyun hai yeh kaise hai yeh tu bata
Kuch toh hai tujhse raabta

I gave this song a second chance when I saw Deepika Padukone, but I did also think of the last time she made a cameo performance in a song and the eventual result of that movie. The movie I am talking about is the Rohan Sippy film Dum Maaro Dum (2011), where Deepika made a cameo appearance in the title song of the movie. The song in question was also a remixed version of the song from Dev Anand‘s Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971).

The music video sees Deepika perform in front of a crowd, with Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon in the audience. You can definitely that there is some tension between the two characters as Kriti seems to be scared or watchful of Sushant.

The end of the music video seems to give us some information on the movie, as we see the two on the run. And from what I saw of the trailer, it should have a good mix of a love story and action scenes, especially with what looks to be a flashback / alternate timeline B story of the film.

Raabta releases in Australia of Friday the 9th of June, 2017. Tickets are available at Hoyts.
